I recently watched love and death on HBO, which is about the axe murder of a Texas housewife Betty Gore, by her close friend and husband’s mistress Candy Montgomery (not a spoiler). The show is based off a true story which happened 42 years ago in Wylie, Texas. Candy was acquitted (even though she did it) and now works as a family counselor if you can believe it!! Anyways this show has really been consuming my mind recently and has sent me down a rabbit hole of researching law loopholes her lawyers used to get her acquitted. I wonder whether she was telling the truth- this show had me pretty convinced she was… BUT I felt like the show portrayed her (killer) in a good light and the victim in a negative one so that’s probably why. Much to think about.
